Many thanks to the parents and carers who joined us last week to congratulate our Year 2 and Year 6 pupils on their participation in our Parent Partnership Reading Project.
The aim of the project was to challenge pupils and their families to read every day for 5 weeks at home in order to measure the power of daily reading and to promote a love of books.
The children also read every day at school and each child was assessed at the start and end of the 5 weeks to measure their progress.
All the pupils that committed to the project made super progress and we were delighted to celebrate their success during a special assembly during which they were awarded with a book of their choice.
Special congratulations also go to the boy and girl who made most progress in each class who were awarded with a fabulous electronic Kindle as well as a book of their choice.
We hope that the awards will encourage the children to continue to enjoy reading and develop a lifelong love of books.
Many thanks to the parents that supported the project and well done to all the children who took part!
