Year 5 visited Buxton and Leek last week to enrich their learning about rivers.
They carried out a study of the River Dane with the expert staff from Stanley Head Outdoor Education Centre. They braved the great outdoors to carry out a range of investigations.
They visited the source of the river and followed the river to see how it changes as it progresses on its journey.
They worked together to look at the river’s features, took measurements to investigate the depth and width and also investigated the speed of the river flow.
The children thoroughly enjoyed the experience and showed great enthusiasm for their learning.
Well done to our Year 5 geographers, you have made us all proud.
