A huge well done to all the children and staff who came to school dressed as characters from their favourite books or in their pyjamas for story time to celebrate World Book Day last week. We had a fabulous day as everyone enjoyed taking part in a range of activities to promote the joy of reading and a love of books. The children and staff enjoyed the experience of sharing books and worked together to carry out a class author study. The range of authors studied included Martin Waddell, Kes Gray, Dr Seuss, Anthony Browne, JK Rowling, Anthony Horowitz and Jeff Kinney. Classes also paired up to share books together.
Each child received a World Book Day voucher which can be exchanged for a book of their choice in a range of shops until Sunday 31st March.
Daily reading with an adult makes such a huge difference and we are very grateful to all the parents and carers who continue to support reading development in our school.
Well done to everyone for celebrating World Book Day and the joy of reading!
Enjoy your new book and enjoy sharing it with your family!
