Well done to our Year 6 class who visited Stanley Head Outdoor Education Centre on Monday to enhance their learning about mountains. The children learnt all about the skills needed for mountain survival.
In the woods, they searched for suitable materials to build a shelter to protect themselves from the wind and rain. They then found out how to light a fire in the great outdoors. They bravely scaled the climbing wall and mastered how to use the belay system with ropes, a harness and a locking carabiner. Everyone embraced the activities enthusiastically and had a great day challenging themselves and finding out whether they would have survived during a mountain adventure.
Well done to our daring Year 6 adventurers, we are extremely proud of you all!
